Salop Leisure

For anyone weighing up a move into holiday accommodation, the range of options can feel overwhelming. Static caravans and lodges sit at the heart of the UK’s staycation market, and the demand for well-placed, well-equipped units shows little sign of cooling.

A long-standing specialism

Salop Leisure began trading as Salop Caravans in 1966. Over more than five decades the business has supplied static holiday homes and lodges to operators across the Midlands, Mid Wales and coastal Wales, helping landowners turn a plot into a working holiday let or an established park into a more profitable one.

The service goes well beyond the sale itself. Clients can draw on guidance covering planning and infrastructure improvements, product and service ranges, marketing, customer service and financing, as well as delivery and siting. The idea is flexibility: take the whole package or just the parts you need.

Who it suits

The offer is aimed at anyone considering a start in alternative accommodation, or already partway through a project. Landowners with a spare field, farmers diversifying, and existing park owners looking to refresh their stock are all part of the picture.

What is currently available

Stock changes regularly, but the current listings give a fair picture of the spread of prices, ages and manufacturers.

Atlas Lilac Lodge — 2014, two bedrooms, £39,995

Willerby Westmorland — 2011, £16,995

Willerby New Hampshire — 2009, two bedrooms, £39,995

Willerby Rio Gold — 2012, two bedrooms, £4,995

Pemberton Park Lane — 2007, two bedrooms, £16,995

Atlas Lakeland — 2007, two bedrooms, £6,500

Prices currently run from around £5,000 for older used models up to £60,000 and above for newer stock. The newest units in the range date from 2026, while the oldest go back to 2003. Manufacturers represented include Willerby, Atlas, Swift, ABI and Pemberton.

Things to think about before buying

  • Condition and age. New units carry the latest layouts and insulation; used ones can offer a lower entry point, particularly for a first letting unit.
  • Bedrooms. Two-bedroom models dominate the current listings, which suits couples and small families.
  • Budget. Used stock starts in the low thousands, but factor in transport, siting and any groundwork on top of the purchase price.
  • Location. Delivery and siting are part of the service, so it is worth discussing access and ground conditions early.

Anyone with a project in mind can arrange a conversation to talk through what would work for their site.
